Prior to forming Gehrke & Umana LLP, Mr. Umana served as General Counsel, Vice President of Business Development and Secretary of deNovis, Inc., a private venture-backed developer of health care claims processing software, and Associate General Counsel of CMGI, Inc., a publicly traded provider of technology and e-commerce solutions. Mr. Umana also practiced as a Junior Partner in the corporate department of Hale and Dorr LLP (predecessor to WilmerHale LLP) and as an attorney in the corporate and tax departments of Choate, Hall & Stewart LLP, both of which are nationally recognized law firms.
Mr. Umana received a J.D. degree from Boston College Law School in 1993, where he was editor-in-chief of the Uniform Commercial Code Reporter-Digest. In 1990, he received a B.S. degree, magna cum laude, from Georgetown University's School of Business Administration, where he concentrated in accounting.
Mr. Umana is admitted to practice in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. He is a member of the American and Boston Bar Associations.
